A study has begun of the yogic practice Chitta Shodhana Kriya — a practice of purifying the mind (Skt. चित्त शोधन क्रिया) — in a group led by Yoga Brahmashri Ratnanath (Yevhen Radishevsky).
This is a practice of Kriya Yoga. The meditation training takes place in an international group. The sequence consists of breathing exercises, mantras, and meditation.
In medical terms, it is a neuroregulatory complex for a full reset of the nervous system. It includes several stages: activation of the vagus nerve, a hypoxic jolt that releases neurotransmitters, and synchronisation of brain rhythms.
The practice induces altered states of consciousness — precisely the subject of research at Bohush Neuro Academy. Separately, we are examining whether the full practice or selected elements can be used in the psychological rehabilitation of service members.
From the standpoint of physiology and neuropsychology, the effects of Chitta Shodhana Kriya matter for anyone who wants to reduce stress and learn self-regulation. The practice can be done independently; one does not have to be a yoga instructor or an experienced practitioner.
The work continues in partnership with the Global Siddha Yoga Tantra Foundation.
